TOPIC: Passenger coach lettering, color?

Passenger coach lettering, color? 3 days 12 hours ago #6611

Hello, looking for some help on what color is the font on Reading passenger coaches. Is it gold leaf or Delux gold? My era I'm looking at is from the late 30's to the early 50's. I'm starting to build a few Bethlehem Car Works coaches I've collected over the years and I've found both, either gold leaf or delux decals supplied with the kits. Photos I've been able to locate of the font color seems more like Delux???

Other question: which decal set do you recommend for Reading coaches? I've acquired the following so far: the existing decals that came with the kits, Delux or gold leaf. Microscale-but the letters seem too large??? Champ-PH-16D-but the lettering doesn't appear to be the same length as the prototype? I'm thinking of using the ones that came with BCW kits.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

So, according to information provided on this website, it seems Delux is the correct color for Reading passenger cars. I’m leaning towards the decals(the Delux ones) that come with passenger cars.

Thx

I'm currently working on the Reading Company lettering for the PBr series, not sure if that works for yours but these will be developed via HighBall Graphics when finished...
