What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

the models I have in HO are old Magnasun (sp) solid resin kits. On these van kits, you got the whole van all cast including bumpers, all you had to do was paint and glue on the cast alum tires/wheels!

Well, shucks.... since each kit had TWO vans... guess I'm doing one of each!

Thanks guys!!
Thanks,
Barry

Well it appears that we have another choice in HO Scale for a RDG. CO. maint. of Way van.
It is a 1974 Ford E-100 van made by Planet Toys called Street Whipz. They make 3 of them but steer clear of the 1976 Chevy and the 1970's Dodge Van that they also make which the RDG never had.
Below is a photo for reference. I'm dying to paint mine blue and decal it.

The MOW trucks built by Boyertown Body Works were built in the very late 1950's and lasted until the very early early 1970's. So if you model the 1960's. You gotta have them.
