What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

I was surprised to see Reading signals still in place at this location. Although I am not positive, they could have been a blue team replacement, but not the usual current treatment. All three guarding one sacred spot... Can anyone tell where it is? BTW, as a time traveler I was able to go into the future and beam myself to this location in order to avoid any trouble with the law.

Klapperthal...or as the Blue Team calls it, CP Titus.

Definitely Klapperthal (I mean CP Titus); that last photo showing a "medium clear" tells me a train is on the way,

Ten-04 on Klapperthal, and yes a train was on the way, from the Belt Line connector. I caught a west bound and an east bounder on my hike, not to mention a huge turkey near the old S. 9th Street bridge, trying to impress his chick with his feathers in full display. I thought and this is why they call it the turkey path, except that that name would refer to the trackage on the other side of the river. Unfortunately I was not in a position yet to acquire the signal and switch set up for the WB. The EB signal directed the train to take the right track and stay on the right main. I guess CR just could not bring themselves to call it CP Klap. That is a wild track arrangement there and would be a neat layout arrangement.

Fortunately with the new trails that are all around Neversink Mountain and the river trails, one can get to the tracks without trespassing, otherwise this is a rather secluded location due to the power plant property encompassing most of it. I wonder what will become of the property with reports that Titus will cease operations soon.
