Francis, thank you!!! I've been searching for a picture of this car for months. My plan is to do this car in HO and my biggest concern was hollow or solid diamond...my question is forever answered...thanks again.

Chris - that's the same shot I have, I have not personally seen any others. As soon as my Microscale decals arrive, I'm modeling this car. I'm also planning to include the DF decals on the boxcar red set that I'm cooking up - there were both black and white DFs on the prototype.

Wow. the musterious 18088! I was actually looking for this one too. Now my question is, would the DF have remained the same from the red paint? i.e. was the DF always black, or did this car have it in white previously, was it carried over, etc...

the article that I have is by the late Bill Gruber. it has a color photo
of car #18066. the door is all green, with a yellow circle with a green D/F in it, on the side of the car, to the left of the door.it is speed lettering with a hollow diamond. so there were 2 cars in this class painted yellow and green.I wonder how many more were painted Y & G, that we do not know about.

I have several photos of the XMwa class cars. The original cars all probably had DF on doors. Only green car with large DF on door, that I know of, is RDG 18088. Some other photos, not all the best.
