What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Here is a photo of a RDG MOW Truck in the old green scheme at Elsmere Jct. in 1964. Photo by Ronald Foreman

It could be easily modeled by using one of the Custom Metal Works trucks with the tool box bed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that truck in the photo a Ford from the mid 1950's? Help me identify it correctly please?

The truck in question is a an International KB or R series. It would make a great kit-bash, but off the top of my head I don't know if anyone make a light duty version of this truck, Walker model service made a KB-11. Anyone know if Sheepscot did this in a resin kit???

Okay, old Internationals are an interest of mine, so this isn't a KB, but is an early 50's R or L model. You can clearly see where it's lettered INTERNATIONAL, but I can't make out the model. These were great old trucks, and you can still find some around. This would make a great model for the 1950's, 1960's or even the early 1970's.
