What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Sept. 24 issue of "Reading Ties" has a short article on the "Safety Patrol". Mentions in the article that this new service will dispatch men more quickly to the scene of a minor problem to get it fixed before it becomes a major one. No matter what it is.

In the background is a van with the side doors open. Only lettering that's readable says "Safety Patrol". Does anyone know more about this service or have a photo of the van itself?

Found this photo (not mine) of a MOW Jeep. Note that it is in the old Green scheme of the 1950-60's. In color to boot!

How many will you buy? I'll probably go for about a 1/2 dozen or so!
