This is an ALCO Models SC. It matches closely the overall dimensions of the EMD SW. It has a LokSound decoder with a Winton Diesel sound that I got from Litchfield Station a while back.
Lighting is next, glazing and weathering. It has the original can motor and is a slow smooth switching locomotive.

Nice looking model. I also like how you filled in the windows with cinderblock on the background building...

Thanks Tom.
The building is a kitbashed Walthers Reliable Warehouse kit.
Many buildings built before 1900 had no elevators and they relied on openings in the sides to lift machinery and other items up from the sidewalk or dock below. They would have a "block and fall" assembly to lift up or down. As the elevators became available these openings were closed in for safety reasons, sometimes with other materials other than brick.
I mentioned ,these were actually built when the company was EMC.

Walthers Cornerstone kits are great for kitbashing - whether for backdrop flats or otherwise. On my old West Reading Branch layout, I kitbashed Reading Hardware by using two George Roberts Printing kits stacked one on top of the other..

That is nice modeling, Chris. Thanks for posting the picture. I'm a big fan of end-cab switchers. I just posted pictures of my OE-10 (VO-1000) over here: www.readingmodeler.com/index.php/forum/m...ow-us?start=300#4975
BTW, Tom, did you guys scrap your West Reading Branch layout? I was really looking forward to seeing the excellent urban scenery develop.

Hi Robin,
Unfortunately, the West Reading Branch is on hiatus, as my nephew moved home and is presently occupying Darrell's basement, so we can't get anywhere near the layout to work on it. I think Darrell would like to get back to it someday if he ever regains control of the basement. The good news is that I'm moving forward with construction of my multi-deck Crossline layout, of which you may have seen photos on my Facebook page. One of these days I plan to start a blog here on the site about it...
