This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Not much of a story. As a prelude to a couple operating sessions on the AM, Steve, Greg and I made a visit to the Allegheny Midland way back when. At that time I was planning a 1985 oriented version of the Reading, but tired of it when everyone else jumped on the band wagon, thus Greg and I were working on a fleet of appropriate motive power.

Very Cool! I never got to see the AM live, and I have yet to see Tony Koester's NKP (or Harold Werthwein's Erie, for that matter), but these are great photos.

With Athearn's announcement of the GP39-2's, I've been going back and forth about moving my era forward to 1974. Problem is, a set of GP40-2's for the Joanna Turn is proving very hard to find. Plus, then I'd need a whole bunch of "RDG" boxcars, different hoppers, etc. I think I'll just stick to 1970, especially since an examination of the Herald King "Share In Freedom" boxcar decal set shows a date of 3-70. So I can have one on the layout! Yeah, that's the ticket!
