MrBill, in your photo the roundhouse body looks taller than the Atlas. even with the Atlas being a little bit longer than the prototype, it looks more realistic. I have 5 old roundhouse in various schemes, and 1 Atlas with the "RDG" lettering. Butch Curll

Yes, from top to bottom chords they 7-1/2' and 8' tall. I agree that the atlas is a nicer model. Though They look fine rolling around the layout together.

I do have to mention though that any of these hoppers that had orange end panels, the panel was always on the left end of the car. roundhouse years ago released a set of these with the entire end in orange which had one side with a left panel and one side with a right panel, which is not correct. None of the HTw cars in Ore Service actually had orange end panels. This was limited to the HTz cars.

Nice photo..... under the loader at Grace Mine no less. Notice the GM in the top center of the car on the left, for Grace Mine and I assume the O in the end panel of the right car stood for Ore since the verbiage just says "For service between Joanna and Bethlehem"

BTW, there is a list of the HTw's assigned to both Joanna and Cornwall somewhere in the RCT&HS archives.

Just came into possession of a large number of Grace Mine photos, but can only share a very few at this time. As the hopper cars were discussed in a article published in the BEE LINE, I can share a few of these.
