What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Found this nice color shot of a "malley" in my travels. There is something to be said about color steam.

Here is a neat old MOW gondola, 92750 GHcx. When time permits this is a planned project for an F&C kit.

I typically don’t post links to eBay auctions, but this one caught my eye and I had to share.

This slide shows three GP35s that are either awaiting delivery or have been in service for just a few days. Probably one of the few photos out there that show how “fresh” Reading green and yellow looks on second-generation diesels.

For the topic on the Athearn "Savings Bond" Covered Hoppers, here is one I grabbed in Reading in 1983.

Last week was out and about and took a few pics of the Mahanoy tunnel. The first two are of the Buck Mtn. side, and the rest well pretty self explanatory, Bill.
