I see Walther's is adding the GP35 to their P2k line. The unit is based on PH II production which,to me,is great news.No RDG units in the first run but they do have undecorated models listed, release date listed at the end of May 2016.

Looking at the art work on Walther's web site and comparing it to prototype pictures of the units offered match up well. However, the model doesn't match up to the RDG's 3626/55 units. The main spotting
difference is the number of door latches on the long hood and number of vents on the battery boxes.Like the RS3 many variants on the 35.I'm guessing RDG's 3626/55 were considered PH 1b units.
Anyway,I'll still plan on some undecorated models to go with my P2K 30's

Chris - Do you have a link to this Walters announcement. I scoured their site and can't find anything. FYI, Phase 2 may work for 3656.

The Reading GP-35's were Phase 1A and 1B units, with the exception of 3656. That was a Phase 2 unit. All that would be needed is to replace the 36-inch fan with a GP-7 style fan.

A good friend emailed me the following link to a photo site. I briefly checked out the Reading section--all black and white photos from the steam/early diesel era, mostly location shots showing track arrangements, surrounding structures, scenery. More photos are to be added. I thought it was pretty cool.--Dave

Dave, thank you for the link. The Tamaqua water tower has always been somewhat of a mystery for me. There is a great crisp shot looking north and the overhang from the stone foundation (which still exists) and the octagon wood framing should really help me scale the structure better!
