Link to good ¾ “B” end photo of XMwa boxcar.

XMwa boxcar

This is the only piece of Reading equipment in this person’s collect. However, you should check out some of the other galleries, there are more than a couple interesting photos. The photos of the F units under construction are fascinating!

To all the folks I mentioned the old Freight Cars Journal LOc scan-My apologies! Last week was busy-a week of VBS at night (we get more kids and adults than daytime)--and getting ready for my daughter's 16th birthday blowout last Saturday. Great stuff! But I have scanned the O-scale plans full size as PDF's, scanned at 400 DPI. I will email them to Mr Bill and Tom Jacobs, who can give them to anyone who wants them, or maybe post them somewhere on the site...there are multiple approaches to kitbashing these from MDC, E&B/Eastern Model Works, Bowser, Tyco/Mantua hoppers...

Aaahhh yes.. Let the Heritage Fantasy Units begin. I wonder how they will fly. This is why I stopped pursuing the "what if" theory. What we strove to get away from (non existent schemes) 30 years ago with accuracy and correct information has been negated by the justification of the Heritage Units.... IMHO, Let the fantasy to the custom painters and individual interests....to each their own. I cannot imagine that they will sell enough to make this worth their while, except to those that don't know and will soon insist they have a valuable and accurate Reading FM C-liner (etc.)model worth thousands$$. (just chuckling - not getting serious over this)

Atlas announced for 1st and 2nd quarter delivery Reading AEM-7 #2302 and 2307 (along with PRR, MILW, GN and Lackawanna) Who's buying?

Give us proper phase GP-35's and RS-3's and U-boats(6300) please.

Bowser also announced another run of HTG hoppers, 6 numbers in the 483/4000 series. Something about the photo just doesn't look right to me..... probably my imagination.... I need HT e and d's anyway.

Rob - it's the "RDG" that doesn't look right to you. It doesn't look right to me either - lettering is too thick, and too narrow in the space between the ribs.

I'm in agreement for the 35's,rs3's and u30c's.I wonder how much time I wasted over the years contacting manufacturers with requests ,input and justification for proper RDG units...thanks for your interest and input we will pass it on to our R&D dept.In other words, don't hold your breath.

Concerning the Bowser HTg...comparing the printing on their earlier releases that I have the letter thickness is the same. What really makes it seem wrong in the picture is the fact that the model is wrong for a HTG hopper.Compare the model to pics in Bossler's book...the end slope on the model is not correct...
