We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Pictures of 20054 after weathering.
Right side high angle.

Right side lower angle

Left side. The solveset left little puddle marks on the RDG decal so I used the areas to simulate rust areas.

Again, weathering powders were used and then dullcoat to seal everything.

I weathered my other accurail car from the 5700 series yesterday also. When I painted this car my goal was to simulate a car from the XMLe class. Those cars had riveted sides which I failed to observe. The accurail model has welded side seams.I also realized yesterday during the weathering application that I decaled the car as XMLg...oh well.

Pictures of my stand-in 19745 after weathering.

This is a straight out of the box built on my very unfinished layout.

just bought one last night, I will probably repaint and redecal it. the yellow is too faded for me. I redid the Accurail 40 ft. Y & G speed lettering boxcar for the same reason.

It actually looks more faded than a car I remember seeing about 1996, 1997. But it matches up to a banner car I caught on the Dewitt west end RIP track that turned up around that same period, with D&H reporting marks. That one I have slides of somewhere.

Here are photos of my 2 cars. #20003 is the car from Robins Rails, #20183 is the Accurail car. both have the proper doors added. I don't know where I got them from, found them in my parts box.
