What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Does anyone have a close up photo of the orange service panel that some the HTd hoppers had? It was the one for ore service. If no photo's. What was the exact words?

There was an Article in the BEE LINE a couple issues back, that had the exact wording. It should have been the same as on the HTw

It reads:

ORE SERVICE
BETWEEN JOANNA
AND BETHLEHEM

It is and it isn't Reading, however I was scanning and I thought it was neat, especially since it was shot at 2 AM. The pair were conveniently sitting close to the edge of Rutherford Yard 18 years ago. Steve Gilbert arranged the lighting. If I recall correctly, it was a combo of his truck headlights, a hand held flash and slave flash. I believe this was the night we found out 5513 (3613 to some) was being sold to the RCT&HS for One Dollar, so we went to find her and were treated to a pair. 30 MAY 1985
