What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Love the retro logo. A shame though. The tag isn't even artsy

Nice looking hopper.I applaued the R&N for their efforts. Its a shame there are CLOWNS who have nothing better to do with their time then disrespect private property.

Hello Group,

Well, I finally caught my first heritage unit on Reading rails. Here is the Erie Lackawanna unit waiting on the Belt line at about 8:30 am this morning. I was on my way to the RCT&HS train meet in Leesport when I saw the unit from the West Shore Bypass. A quick detour, some negotiating through thick under brush, and I got my shots! It wasn’t the best weather, but at least the train wasn’t moving so I didn’t end up with a grey, maroon, and yellow blur. By the way, apparently there is a Facebook page that tracks these locomotives aside from the Heritage Unit site.

The engineer must have turned off the headlight for some reason while I was snapping pictures. Wish I could have gotten better light.

Thanks, Mark
