What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Here is RDG 519 working in the wintertime. Beside the replacement headlight, notice the bay window for the Engineer.

Here is the 2702 at the start of Port Richmond, I believe. This small terminal replaced Erie Ave. after 1971 when it was converted to a a TOFC terminal.

That's Port Richmond with I95 overhead, and you can see the covered conveyor for the grain elevator in the background. The facility was known as Coral St, more towards where the PRR Trenton Ave highline (K&T running track) passed overhead, only a few blocks up. It was still open in the early CR years. One could always find SW1's, VO1000m's and weird goodies as well! Still pretty safe by Philly standards during the daytime. It's all a forest there now!

The Grace Mine run ready to leave Joanna in 1975. Can anyone identify the Joanna Station?
