What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

That's a good guess Bill, that is the original station location. The building with Purina Chows on the end, the big pivture window and the roll up door was the second and final Joanna Station.

Take a look at this nice clean RS-3 leading a passenger run up the Bethlehem Branch. Take note of the yellow safety highlights.

Here is a shot of Reading 1520 SW-900 at the Reading shops in November, 1975. The "5" in 1520 has a series of white stars in the numeral. I can't quite figure out how to duplicate that on a finished model.

Some time back, Johncoaltrain asked about shots of the Coatesville Freight Station. I don't have a clean shot of the front, does anyone else?

Here are some shots of the sides and rear.

Thank you JoannaBill! WOW. I've been wanting to see photos of this for years. I've had to settle for blowing up the aerials in the Lukens photo archive on the Hagley site. The awning sure has an unusual roof line. Would never have caught that from the aerials. Speaking of awnings, some of the aerials showed canvas awnings over the 2nd floor windows. Would have been in the 40s or 50s. When did the building meet its demise?
