What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

the yellow and green RS3's are just so funky! (494 was leased on the PRSL for a good part of 1974, too)...somehow the tiny nose herald and ALL the grimed-up louvers make it begged to be modeled totally grimed up as only an Alco can get!

many, countless thank you's!!! I saw it once or twice-they'd assign it to various jobs out of Pavonia-only once did I se it at full sail, on ex-Rdg rails at that, right through at 40 or so with a good sized local, headed back to the barn on short time as usual... would you mind if I copy the file into my own photo file for personal use???I'll swap you PRSL Baldwins if you'd like...

Here's a line-up of every variation of fresh and faded Rdg yellow and green-ready to get loaded with rolls of insulation at the Owens Corning plant in Barrington NJ on the PRSL. Even thought the Rdg owned 1/3 of the PRSL, both Rdg and PRR-PC charged the PRSL full car hire charges.. so they made sure the PRSL almost always lost money on paper-and..got the tax write off on the car hire owed by its own subsidiary! PRSL never owned a revenue freight car-all supplied by PRR/PC or Rdg...

Some months back, I posted some shots of the Coatesville Freight Station. Yesterday I stumbled across these in my negative collection.
