What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Cool.... I am impressed that the nameplate remained on the unit until the "end." Probably good that a concerned citizen removed them in the name of preservation prior to Conrail destroying them or they would be gone.

5211 is also pretty clean looking at that late date - for an Alco.

Shortly after the 5308 was restored, I photographed all of the nameplates on the front step area of the 5308 for a "Bee Line" article on the 5308 acquisition by the RCTHS.

( Trivia - Bossler code name for RCTHS = "Breakfast")

I think "Breakfast" was also his name for one particular individual

Why yes, it did. I don't usually be SW-1200's, but I didn't have any shots of 2701 in my collection.
