It looks good, Nick. The Bachmann NE caboose is nicely proportioned and tracks well. It should provide a good basis for your NMn. I bought a Bethlehem Car Works laser cut wood conversion kit for the Proto 2000 model years ago. Maybe I'll get around to building that about the same time I tackle those F&C kits that I stowed away (retirement just looks better all the time)!).

Keep the pictures coming, Nick!

Finished making the ends of the cupola, aside from some minor tweaks that need to be done, and also adding in the slot where the walkway is and the plastic snaps in. I apologize for the hand pictures hahaha I haven't mounted anything yet to the caboose.

Update on the Nmn caboose conversion. I have to say this actually came out pretty well. I have a couple spots to put putty in the cracks to smooth the transitions out, but once that's done it's off to the paint booth. Actually before I do that, does anyone know if the Nmn class had a wood roof and walkway?

Looking good, Nick. According to RDG records, as reported in John Hall's "Reading Company Cabooses," the roof was canvas-covered wood, and the roof walk was also wood. The end platform surfaces were Superior Diamond Plate.

Ah ok, then I will have to change that roof walk then to wood. I figure I'll just leave the roof as is since it was just canvas covered. I was looking for that information in John's book last night. What page did you find that on, Robin?
