What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Saw 1067 in Reading last Monday when I was driving on Rt. 12...chased in from 5th street past Cartech and the green Reading bridge through Wyomissing and into West Lawn. They were doing about 35-55 the entire way so I could keep up fairly easily but when they got into West Lawn they really opened in up. In West Lawn you could feel the vibrations in the air, storefront glass was shaking as the train went from 55- to about 70mph it is unreal how much power these things have I will never forget that chase.

Here she is after crossing the Reading bridge by Cartech

Here it is by the Wyomissing dinner

1067 has been in PA for the past few weeks so there maybe another chance to catch her in Reading again. Now about getting the LV unit here too...

Looks like you caught NS 1067 just passing through Reading. The heritage site shows this unit in Conway.

You’re lucky you had the chance to chase it. Wish I had such good fortune!

The 1076 (7601 backwards - how cool is that) just passed through Berks County from about 9:30 to 10:30, eastbound on NS 64W. I caught her twice with the camera and passed her as she was on the viaduct in West Reading... That looked awesome but I could not get a photo. Here is one shot in Exeter Twp. It should lead 65W west in the next day or two.... Heads up!
