Dave - I would like to know how you did the wood detailing on the tackboards on the XMwa - looks like real wood - is it?

Here's a 50fter I did about 2 months ago.I had an undec accurail unit so I tried an experiment using the 40 ft RDG Modeler decals.With the extra yellow banner spacers I just couldn't get the decal to look right.I decided to use the 40ft banner.It will make a good conversation piece in a consist of 50fters with the correct banner length.

Thanks. An article in the July 2013 RMC titled "Weathering freight cars without an airbrush" by Bob Walker showed the tackboard technique. It came out just as I was finishing these cars. Basically take small blobs of gray and black paint, swirl 'em with, a brush, and dry brush the mix onto the tackboard.--Dave
